Dabu ( Janabaha dyo bathing platform)

Dabu ( Janabaha dyo bathing platform)

For the snan, the main priest of the temple carries the deity out of the temple and establishes onto the platform made for the ritual, after the presence of Goddess Kumari. Once on the platform, other priests dressed as Panchabuddha perform commencement ritual. It is performed on the 7th day of the festival followed by applying Alaa on the feet of the diety.

The bathing platform of Janabaha dyo is not a historical monument itself, but a ritually reconstructed ceremonial stage with centuries-old tradition, designed to host one of Kathmandu’s most important public purification rituals.
