European Figure (The lady)

The mysterious European-looking statue situated in the courtyard of Janbahal in Kathmandu is a fascinating, small Greco-Roman bronze metal figurine, often surrounded by railings and candles, facing the temple. It is widely noted for its distinctly non-Nepali, Western appearance compared to the surrounding Buddhist and Hindu iconography. It is believed to be installed by the Nyata Tuladhar Clan. Despite having a foreign appearance, it is integrated into the local worship, with devotees regularly offering butter lamps(diyo) and incense(dhup).
